New delivery to City Hospital, Birmingham

The City Hospital Breast Screening Unit, Birmingham have taken delivery of a brand new Akurus Mammography Chair from Wolverson X-Ray Limited. This was the first of two chairs bought by Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. One was delivered to the Breast unit at Walsall Manor Hospital, This breast care examination chair, which is mobile in all directions and has motorised height adjustment is used for easy comfortable transport and positioning of patients during mammography screenings. The chair is made up of several segments including a moveable head rest which allows varies comfortable positions for the patient seated or lying down, furthermore, in critical situations trendelenburg is available in seconds. Programme Manager Pat Bennett, commented “The staff are delighted with the equipment as it is compact, user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. The clients/patients find the positioning of the arm when lying down much more comfortable and we call it the Rolls Royce of chairs”
