Spotlight on Mary Vaglia: US Project Manager

Working from our Californian office, Mary Vaglia heads up US Project Management. Here she gives an insight into her role and what she's most proud of...
What is your day to day role at CASCO Pet?
As a Project Manager with CASCO Pet, my day to day can vary quite a bit, depending on what current projects I am working on. I oversee new corporate customers, ensuring that we set them up for success from day one. This means partnering with them on the design of their habitats or fish systems and the installation at their locations.
I also manage the processes related to many of the new products that we bring on, such as Vitalis. Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition are fish foods that we are now distributing in the US to public aquariums and zoos.
Trade shows are also a large focus of mine. I coordinate and manage all aspects of us presenting at Trade Shows in the USA. This includes working with our partners at Central Garden and Pet and Segrest, Inc. to ensure that our booth layout will provide ample and beautiful space for us to use their products in our habitats and display their live animals and fish. Displaying at trade shows takes a lot of organization and coordination, but it is always so rewarding to see the end results of our booths!
What is your greatest achievement at CASCO Pet?
My greatest achievement has been management of the Petsense account. This customer has been a bit different for us as from day one it was also a partnership with the companies of Central Garden and Pet, mostly Segrest, Inc. We built them a beautiful, easy to maintain Animal Island that contains a fish system, reptile habitat, and small animal habitat. It fits perfectly in their space and is featured front and center in their stores. Besides providing Petsense with habitats, we also partnered with the teams at Segrest, Inc. to assist with in-store training at the first several installs. Being able to work directly with the teams that would be using our habitats and fish systems on a regular basis was extremely rewarding. The partnership with Petsense has been amazing, and they agree as well; earlier in 2019 we were presented with an award from Petsense for "Most Innovative Brick and Mortar Differentiator"
What do you enjoy most about working at CASCO Pet?
I love the people I get to work with. This includes my co-workers and customers, from store associates to VPs of some large companies! Building relationships with my co-workers and customers and really working to find solutions for their individual situations really motivates me!
Bio
I have been with CASCO Pet for almost 2 years. Prior to CASCO Pet, I spent almost 20 years working at a couple of large US pet retailers where I focused on improving store operations, corporate communications, and live animal training.
In my spare time I love to travel. Besides frequent jaunts to Walt Disney World (I proudly have a pair of Baymax Ears and C-3PO ears), I love exploring other countries and really getting a feel for the local culture, customs, people, and food. A couple of favorite places I've visited include Lago d' Idro and Capri in Italy, Oberwesel, Germany, and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic.
