Meet the Experts: CASCO Pet UK Helpdesk: Rachel Chandler

Our previous 'Meet the Experts' article only introduced one half of our helpdesk team! So, in this article we have asked Rachel about her role here at CASCO Pet. How do you prioritise your workload? I think it's very important to set yourself goals. I like to ensure that I have reminders of the tasks I need to complete throughout the day, writing myself a list or making notes helps a great deal. We have processes in place to assign jobs to the correct person, this includes a colour coded system for our emails to ensure each query is followed up. I also run a report on the outstanding sales to keep track of all of the orders that need to be sent out to customers. We prioritise jobs by using a CRM to log all communication with customers which keeps an open list of any outstanding call outs and when they need to be completed by. What do you enjoy most about working at CASCO Pet? There are lots of enjoyable aspects about working at CASCO Pet, what I enjoy the most is the diversity of the role, and the teams I work with. It can be very busy with requests from stores and call outs or installations to arrange with our engineers. As well as this, myself and Jessica look after the fish and reptiles we keep here in our showroom and office, which is a very important part of our day. We speak to a large variety of people with different backgrounds within the Pet industry. It's always interesting to speak to other people who have a common interest in animals, and you can often learn from each other! Rachel's Bio Before working for CASCO Pet, I studied Animal Management for 4 years, and then went on to study Marine Ecology and Conservation, and Marine Biology at University. I have also worked in a Pet and Aquatics shop for 8 years alongside my studies, this helped me progress into my current role at CASCO Pet. I have always had a passion for animals and fish and have a number of pets including a cat, a rabbit, 3 fish tanks and my horse Splash. What do you like to do in your spare time? My spare time outside of work is usually spent with animals! I spend a lot of my weekends and evenings with my horse Splash, looking after him and riding. I also have a marine tank which I spend time cleaning and maintaining to keep it looking beautiful! I enjoy being outdoors and going for walks and in the summer it's any excuse to go down to the beach! I also enjoy spending time with my friends.
