Course 1075 Practical Skin Flaps and Grafts
Have you ever had that sinking feeling after removing a skin mass when you have a bigger wound and much less skin to close it than expected? Or what about the open wound that should be healing but just doesn’t seem to be moving forward? This is the course that looks at the solutions for these situations. You’ll get to think through wound case studies and perform wound closures in practical sessions under specialist guidance.
On this course we will demonstrate a practical approach to these cases from the initial assessment and ongoing management for open wounds to the pre-surgical planning and execution of the successful wound closure. We will focus on techniques available to general practitioners from straightforward local closure to the options for the more challenging cases. The course will be full of practical tips but will also give a deep understanding of the requirements for open wound management or planned surgical wound closure.
The 1 day will be organised into sessions where an initial case-focused lecture will be followed by a case study session or a clear practical session. In the practical sessions the delegates will perform specific procedures including wound planning/closure, local skin flaps, axial pattern flaps and skin grafting.
