A TRIUMPH FOR MA EXHIBITIONS AND PRINTWEEK AS PRINTWEEKLIVE! WINS ‘BEST EVENT LAUNCH’ AT THE 2017 PPA CONNECT AWARDS

07-08-2019

Tuesday, December 12, 2017 MA Exhibitions are delighted that PrintWeekLive! was recognised and rewarded in its inaugural year after winning ‘Best event launch (B2B)’ at the PPA Connect Awards on December 8th, a ceremony held in London to recognise the brilliant events that are created in the business media and consumer magazine sector. MA Exhibitions prides itself on quality of research before any show launch, not to mention the quality of content, execution and customer service. When the plans began for PrintWeekLive! it was essential to listen to the print industry and design an event that enabled printers to be inspired, with opportunities such as learning about how to innovate and improve businesses and engaging with the market-leading suppliers within the exhibition to make their businesses better. The Wasps Arena in Coventry welcomed over 2,200 visitors from 1,000 companies in its first year. There is no doubt that PrintWeekLive! benefited from the unrivalled brand strength of PrintWeek, the UK’s market leading print industry title as it supported a quantitive research project to discover if the UK print industry wanted a national show, and if it did, what that show would look like. The survey had been completed by 1,100 individual printers and buyers. The results clearly showed that the industry would benefit hugely from a new event, mirroring PrintWeek, but in ‘live’ form. “With PrintWeekLive! we demonstrated the excitement, enthusiasm and energy that print can generate, just with the added benefit of being in an environment that doesn’t just celebrate print, but one that will give visitors the tools and demonstrate the technology that will enable them to boost their businesses,” said PrintWeek editor and publisher Darryl Danielli. The team also hosted every conference and workshop session, providing content of the same ‘editorial’ standard as the magazine brand. Visitors were attracted by the event’s combination of a show floor featuring the latest technology, workshop theatres promoting best practice and a conference schedule boasting a number of inspirational speakers. Sticking with the brand values of PrintWeek magazine, the editorial team organised the conference programme by featuring many of the industry’s most inspirational business leaders. They also worked extremely closely with the marketing team, resulting in a campaign that included targeted digital and direct marketing. The preparation, paired with the strong market research resulted in a fantastic, informative event for the printing industry which has subsequently been recognised for its incredible achievement. The quality of the attendees is, as ever, the key factor and PrintWeekLive! delivered an excellent level of decision makers through the doors. PrintWeekLive! is a true celebration of print; where the leading manufacturers, resellers and service providers highlight the latest technology on a show floor bristling with a wide range of kit and applications. Managing Director of MA Exhibitions, Ed Tranter thanked his team for all their hard work and stated, “All businesses, without exception, understand that their staff is their most precious commodity and without the unfailing enthusiasm and energy of the PrintWeek team, and our own MA Exhibitions event operations and marketing teams, this event could not have taken place”. Developing projects like PrintWeekLive! take an enormous amount of team work, perseverance and dedication, and the entire team at MA Exhibitions is delighted to have delivered an event to benefit the entire industry and look forward to many more years of PrintWeekLive!
