10 year old Weimeraner with right hind limb lameness

09-04-2017

This dog was referred to the spinal clinic of a specialist orthopaedic referral centre with a history of right hind limb lameness. A clinical examination showed femoral nerve deficits on the right which were confirmed on emg. The animal underwent MRI of the lumbar spine to confirm the presumptive diagnosis of lateral intervertebral disc protrusion causing nerve root compression. MRI Findings T2 weighted sagittal images of the lumbar spine revealed normal well hydrated discs with no evidence of prolapse or protrusion.
