PDSA Oldbury Official Opening

03-06-2020

PDSA’s new Birmingham (Oldbury) Pet Hospital, The Marian and Christina Ionescu Centre of Surgical Excellence was officially opened on 27th May 2016 by the charity’s Patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra seen here talking to Tony Keith. Senior Vet at the new Pet Hospital, Ian Fleming, who has worked at the charity for nearly 30 years, said: “It was an absolute honour to host our Royal Patron and give her a tour of the new hospital. This fantastic hospital has replaced our old site on Hagley Road West, which had been caring for local pets for over 60 years. Though much-loved, it was too small and out-dated for our future needs. “We now have separate cat and dog waiting areas, a spacious reception and six consulting rooms. Many of the pets we treat often need life-saving treatment and having these new facilities and equipment means we are able to deliver outstanding surgical care.” Since the Pet Hospital opened, the 30-strong vet and nurse team have already treated nearly 12,000 pets, performed over 1,500 operations, carried out over 25,000 separate consultations and helped to treat over 3,000 emergency cases.
