Produced by Wolseley another really well engineered machine – indeed probably their “flagship” model – but unfortunately the flag now droops! Viewed from the engineering aspect – a good machine in its day with an equally good track record, but with all the new and inovative designs it is looking distinct “last century” and out paced dispite the upgrades but many European manufactures and various models
In the days before the arrival of sleeker and lighter machines from the German manufacturers such as Aesculap, Hauptner and Liscop (Lister GmbH) or the Swiss manufacturer “Heiniger” both the Wolseley Harrier held a good proportion of UK market sale along with the “Falcon and Swift”, and in fairness they do still hold on to many loyalty customers. However over successive years with the introduction of new and more innovative clippers arriving from Europe, and with manufacturers continuing to improve design, weight, and noise level, both the Falcon and the Harrier continue to hold less and less appeal with customers.
The machine is fitted with a safety strap, and has a thermal overload cut out switch for added safety. The specially designed air baffle blows the hair away from the operator. The air-cooled motor and ventilated head ensures cool running and prolonged life. A sheep-shearing head can be easily fitted by the removal of two screws. The sheep head must be fitted with Wolseley A5 blades only.
