PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Heiniger “Style” is identical to the earlier model the “Saphir” the only difference being it is supplied with a #10 blade and a more colourful upper body casing which is perceived as more fashionable than the blue/black of the earlier model.
The “Saphir” when first launched in the early 2000’s quickly established Heiniger as a first choice among many veterinary practitioners in the UK, and internationally. Within a short space of time many professional dog groomers and domestic pet owners followed preferring the advantages of cordless mode with the new battery technology, compared to traditional mains machines, and especially a cordless one that would accept their A5 type detachable blades.
Two features of the “Style” like the “Saphir” – the low noise level plus relative none existence of vibration will be especially appealing to the cat owner. The “Style” is delightfully lightweight – a mere 0.44kg – even with battery attached, nice and compact – under 205mm/8-inches (including a narrow blade attached) comfortable to hold, well balanced and easy to operate whether in a male or female hand. The clipper body casing design is molded to give a slimmer and improved grip just were you hold it! The powerful 35 watt motor has soft motor note that is instantly associated with high quality engineering of the Germanic type. Free of vibration its single speed motor provides a powerful 2650 double cutting strokes per minute.
One critical observation – the rear mounted switch is not in our favourite position for an emergency stop situation! From a practical position we prefer the on/off switch to instantly accessible.
The “Style” is powered by a lightweight Lithium-ion batteries – it is supplied with two for continuous clipping. Each battery has a clip time of 50 minutes with a fast re-charge time of 45 minutes Lithium-ion batteries (sometimes abbreviated Li-ion batteries) offer many advantages over earlier batteries. A light and compact charger unit provides two charging bays. If the clipper with battery is placed in the charging bay, (Bay with raised back surround.) the charger will charge the clipper. The spare battery in its charging bay however will not be charged. Remove the clipper from its charging bay, the charger will then charge the spare battery. A red led light indicating charging is in progress, a green led light indicating charging has completed. In the rear of the charger casing slots enable it to be wall mounted if required
Most standard type attachment comb can be fitted to blades from blades size #50 to size #8.5. Blades of all makes below this size do not fit attachment combs, due to the increasing thickness (size) of the bottom plate (comb blade). Combs will not fit the “detachable” wide blades. The purpose of using an attachment combs is to leave a greater length of un-cut hair than the blade selected would normally leave. They are used mainly by dog groomers and pet owners. It is important to remember however that if you use an attachment comb you must be very thorough in the grooming the coat before clipping. There MUST NOT be any tangles or knots – otherwise the comb may come off the blade, refuse to pass through the hair, and the clipping process may be painful to the animal!.
On the subject of blades, Heiniger do not make A5 type detachable blades and whilst not confirmed we suspect due to the close collaboration between Heiniger and Aesculap they are in fact Aesculap made blades. Certainly apart from the name “Heiniger” over stamped on the blade, the appearance is identical.
