Novex BBS Phase Binocular

ampling and analysis of materials for the presence of asbestos is normally undertaken to comply with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 (CAWR). which requires employers of people who are going to work with asbestos to identify the asbestos type(s) by analysis or to assume the material contains the most hazardous type(s) of asbestos (ie crocidolite and/or amosite). The purpose of the sampling is to collect representative samples of the suspect materials and to determine whether asbestos is present and, if so,the types. Novex BBS Phase Binocular Microscope for asbestos research Phase contrast microscopy is used for estimating asbestos concentrations of airborne fibres. This method is quick and can be performed on-site for a rapid determination of concentrations of asbestos fibres in the air. Phase contrast microscopy does not positively differentiate between asbestos and other fibres but is used in the routine evaluation of air quality. Working to ABP McCrone's specification, Metascientific.com have worked closely with Euromex to develop the Novex BBS Phase Contrast microscope specifically for asbestos fibre counting. This highly modified B-Series microscope is a positive phase contrast microscope with 10X Brightfield and 40X Phase objectives, Walton & Beckett reticule Type-22G and, optionally, a stage micrometer with 0.01mm divisions.
