Monocyte chemotactic protein 1 is a chemokine that is produced by macrophages, monocytes and other cells of the immune system. It is involved in the recruitment of monocytes to sites of injury and inflammation. It is also responsible for promoting both neutrophil recruitment to sites of injury/infection and T lymphocyte proliferation.
