Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a 17.4 kDa protein that consists of six exons, it is also produced by various cells including endothelial cells, dendritic cells, keratinocytes, hepatocytes and neurons. It can affect survival and proliferation of mature T cells, enhances proliferation and survival of T cell precursors (human and mice) and B cell precursors (mice only), potent enhancer of T cell function and IFN-γ production.
