Feline herpes virus (also called FHV or FHV-1) is a contagious ubiquitous virus which is responsible for causing upper respiratory infections (URIs, also more commonly known as cat flu). In majority of instances, a specific diagnosis is usually not required and instead the typical signs are enough in order to make a presumptive diagnosis of FHV-infection.
